Sheraton Waikiki, an oceanfront resort nestled along the world-famous Waikiki Beach, has completed a $200 million renovation project, which included upgrades to all 1,636 rooms and suites. This multi-year endeavor has transformed every facet of the resort, promising guests an unforgettable Hawaiian experience against the backdrop of Diamond Head and Waikiki's enchanting waters.

Revamped rooms

A standout feature of the revamped rooms is the tailored, curated closet, providing travelers with much-needed organization and convenience. Washlets have been added to each room for an extra touch of luxury and comfort. Nearly 80% of these refreshed accommodations now offer stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and the iconic Diamond Head, with lanais (balconies) adorned with pūne'e (daybeds) and work tables, inviting guests to immerse themselves in the breathtaking vistas.

Sheraton Waikiki boasts more than 130 suites in its Suite Collection, offering a range of options from spacious rooms with three queen-sized beds to accommodations suitable for up to six people. Among these, the reconfigured Ohana Suite stands out as the ultimate family retreat, featuring two bedrooms, two baths, two lanais (balconies), a cozy living room, a dining area and a pull-out sofa, accommodating up to six guests.

"We're thrilled with the results of the renovations and are beyond excited for our guests to experience the beauty, comfort and aloha spirit that the Sheraton Waikiki offers," said Sheraton Area General Manager and Managing Director Tom Calame.

Meeting space

For event planners, the resort boasts 19 contemporary meeting rooms equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual technology. The total event space is 75,070 square feet, with the largest space holding a capacity of 3,700.

Other amenities

The resort features two distinct pool facilities. The adult-only Edge Infinity Pool, touted as North America's longest infinity pool, offers a serene escape, while the family-friendly Helumoa Playground family pool boasts a slide, fountains and other water features.

Adjacent to the award-winning Edge Infinity Pool is The Edge of Waikiki, recognized as one of America's best pool bars. The revamped Surfbreak Cocktail menu pays homage to iconic Waikiki surf locales, featuring drinks like the 100M Freestyle, Queens, Canoes, Three's and Four's and Old Man's (Gregg's) — all made with locally sourced spirits from Hawai'i. The bar has also introduced a new lunch menu, serving Hawaiian-infused American cuisine using fresh, locally grown products and healthy ingredients.

Sustainable practices

Sheraton Waikiki proudly maintains its commitment to sustainability. The LEED Gold Certified resort was the first hotel in Hawai'i to offer EV charging stations, according to hotel officials. Water refill stations, smart timer irrigation systems, indigenous plant species and green waste recycling contribute to the property's environmentally friendly practices. Guest rooms have also been optimized for sustainability with smart thermostats, recycled paper products, LED lighting, green cleaning chemicals, linen reuse options and more.

The Sheraton Waikiki collaborates closely with event planners to ensure sustainability goals are met, reinforcing its dedication to responsible tourism.
