Hotel News: New Hilton Headquarters Hotel Debuts in Downtown Atlanta

Hilton recently expanded its Georgia portfolio with the opening of its first Signia by Hilton property in the Peach State: the 976-room Signia by Hilton Atlanta, Atlanta’s largest ground-up hotel development project in four decades.

Owned by Georgia World Congress Center Authority (GWCCA), the new 42-story property forms part of the Authority’s Championship Campus, which includes the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC), Mercedes-Benz Stadium and Centennial Olympic Park. The hotel conveniently offers direct access to the GWCC via a pedestrian walkway, allowing convention guests prime access to GWCC’s Georgia ballroom and breakout rooms.

Built on the repurposed foundation of the Georgia Dome, the new GWCC headquarters hotel features eight food and beverage experiences; a spa, beauty bar, rooftop pool and fitness center; more than 100,000 square feet of flexible meeting space; a grand outdoor event deck and lawn; and Club Signia rooms and amenities. 

Southern-Inspired Design and Décor

Developed by Boston-based Drew Company, with Gensler as the architect and interior designer, and a joint venture between Skanska and SG Contracting as the general contractor, Signia by Hilton Atlanta is now the tallest building on the city’s west side.

Offering panoramic views of downtown Atlanta, a curated art collection and inviting gathering spaces, the 42-story, 1.25 million sq. ft. property is enveloped in wall-to-wall glass. Inside, guests will find a modern, open-concept and naturally lit lobby, adorned with elevated fixtures and stylish and comfortable furniture. 

All guest rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows with panoramic views and a warm and refined design elements conveying Southern-style luxury, with earth toned-fabrics, rich wood and rattan textures and brass finishes. According to hotel officials, the rooms’ colors and materials pay homage to some of Atlanta’s most historically important and culturally significant neighborhoods, with shades of amber, deep brown, soft beige and slate blue, as well as black and metallic details.

Sophisticated Rooms for Resting and Recharging

Signia by Hilton Atlanta offers 976 guest rooms, including 70 suites, up to 80 Club Signia rooms, and additional specialty room types with in-room Peloton bikes and dedicated wellness rooms.

Rooms feature a variety of amenities, including a walk-in rain showers, Serta Perfect Sleeper beds, Connoisseur sateen linens, Nespresso machines, NEST amenities, steamers, umbrellas, robes and slippers, custom lighting and modern technology such as Connected Room, which enables guests to control the lights, TV and more from their mobile device or the TV remote. Additionally, via the Hilton Honors app, guests can book their stay, select their room, check in, unlock their door with a Digital Key and check out, all from their smartphone.

Premium Culinary Offerings

The Signia by Hilton brand is known for its emphasis on exceptional dining experiences, from chef-driven concepts to stylish bars, and the new Atlanta property is no exception.

At the helm of the hotel’s culinary team are Director of Food and Beverage Jacob Linzey, Executive Chef Christian Quiñones and Executive Pastry Chef Daniella Lea Rada, who oversee its eight food and beverage experiences that feature locally and regionally sourced ingredients.

Culinary outlets include Capolinea, the hotel’s signature restaurant offerings Italian fine dining; Nest on Four, a modern sports bar and upscale gastropub with views of Mercedes-Benz Stadium; Homespun, a Southern breakfast destination; Friendship Market, offering grab-and-go essentials and a curated selection of Atlanta favorites from locally owned businesses; Highball, the hotel’s seasonal pool bar; and the Lobby Bar, featuring classic cocktails, cocktails with a twist and seasonal shareable plates. 

Elevated Meetings and Events

Developed for meeting planners and their attendees based on meeting planner feedback, Signia by Hilton Atlanta offers 137,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event space, including the largest hotel ballroom in Georgia. Among its 112 event space options are a variety of meeting rooms, three boardrooms with Mercedes-Benz Stadium views, semi-private pre-function areas and 31,000 sq. ft. of outdoor event space, including an event deck and an event lawn.

Additionally, the hotel’s catering and events team provides premium service and food and beverage offerings, including an extensive banquet menu with Atlanta-inspired cuisines designed to energize attendees throughout their event experiences. Guests can also enjoy interactive components to their meetings and events, ranging from experiential meeting breaks to chef dinners and mixology demonstrations.

Wellness and Leisure Amenities

Signia by Hilton Atlanta offers a wide range of top-shelf wellness and leisure amenities, with an entire floor dedicated to wellness, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a spa, beauty bar and an outdoor rooftop with a pool and lounge overlooking Mercedes-Benz Stadium. 

Exercise enthusiasts will find a fitness center equipped with yoga stations, Peloton Bikes, Technogym equipment and group fitness classes, and can enjoy nearby access to Atlanta’s top biking and running trails.

Expected to debut later this winter, the hotel’s spa and beauty bar will offer a host of treatments and spa amenities, including recharging experiences ranging from detox massages and recovery treatments to a cryo facial lift, combining cold therapy and gua sha, along with percussion therapy. Meanwhile, the beauty bar will offer salon services ranging from sleek blowouts and a first-of-its-kind biohacking pedicure to wedding preparations and gala glam. 

A Destination Staple

Signia by Hilton Atlanta joins the curated and growing Signia by Hilton portfolio of hotels that currently include Signia by Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek, Signia by Hilton San Jose and the upcoming debut of Signia by Hilton Indianapolis, slated to open in late 2026. 

According to Hilton officials, not only does Atlanta represent Hilton’s largest market globally by number of hotels with a portfolio of 136 hotels across 13 brands, but the leading hotel company also has a pipeline of more than 40 hotels in various stages of design and construction in the city.
