MGM Resorts to Complete Reopenings Sept. 30, Including Smoke-Free Las Vegas Casino Resort
MGM Resorts International will complete the reopening of all its properties around the world following pandemic closures when Park MGM and NoMad Las Vegas open their doors on Sept. 30. Of note, the dual-branded property will become The Strip’s first fully smoke-free casino resort.
“Opening Park MGM and NoMad represent significant milestones, as they are the last of our properties to welcome back employees and guests alike,” said Bill Hornbuckle, president and CEO of MGM Resorts. “The last six months have presented extraordinary challenges, and I could not be prouder of the MGM Resorts team for the tireless effort required to get us here. There is much work ahead as we remain focused on the health and safety of our employees and guests, but this is an important moment for us.”
Park MGM was completed in late 2018. Amenities at the property will initially be limited upon reopening, but guests will be able to enjoy outlets such as Eataly, Bavette’s Steakhouse, Primrose and the pool. As part of reopening, NoMad Las Vegas will offer complimentary self-parking, in addition to going newly smoke-free.
“As we looked toward our reopening, we identified an opportunity to be responsive to recurring guest demand for a fully non-smoking casino resort on The Strip,” said Anton Nikodemus, president of MGM Resorts’ Las Vegas portfolio.
Group business is limited to gatherings of 50 or fewer people, in accordance with State of Nevada guidelines. However, sales teams are hopeful larger events will be able to take place later this year. “We still have a number of groups on the books for the remainder of the year at all of our properties, including Park MGM, both under and over 50 attendees,” says CheFawn Holland, executive director of catering and convention services for Park MGM/NoMad. “We remain very optimistic that events over 50 may still take place in Q4 provided the gathering guidelines increase, and we are looking forward to welcoming those groups when we get the green light.
All meetings spaces at Park MGM are available for groups under 50 beginning Sept. 30, including the Madison Meeting Center (pictured), the 7,000-sq.-ft. Ideation Studio (with 10 rooms accommodating groups of six to 24 people) and the outdoor Central Park Terrace.
