Rosen Hotels & Resorts Opens Midpointe Hotel Orlando Convention Center
Rosen Hotels & Resorts in Orlando has rebranded the Red Roof Inn at International Drive hotel. The newly refurbished 134-room hotel is now known as Midpointe Hotel Orlando Convention Center.
Rosen acquired the former Red Roof Inn, along with the 222-room Clarion Inn & Suites at International Drive, in late 2017.
Midpointe Hotel's new name signifies its location midway between Orlando's tourist destinations and attractions. Located across the street from the Orange County Convention Center and next to the 1334-room Rosen Centre convention property, Midpointe expands the guestroom options for convention attendees.
The hotel lobby and guest rooms have been completely refreshed. New amenities include 32-inch flat screen televisions as well as mini refrigerators and microwaves in some guest rooms. The hotel also offers a fitness center, indoor pool, laundry facilities, and complimentary tea and coffee in the lobby as well as free WiFi throughout the property.
As a Destination Universal Hotel, daily scheduled transportation (reservations required) to Universal Orlando Resorts™ is available at no charge.
Midpointe is also pet-friendly, although advance reservations are required.
Harris Rosen, president and chief operating officer of Rosen Hotels & Resorts, is banking on future convention center expansions.
"If the convention center expands, there would be an obvious need for more guest rooms contiguous to the Orange County Convention Center,” Rosen said.
He added, “In the next 4 or 5 years, it's possible that our company will grow to more than 7,000 guest rooms and several years after that, close to 8,000 guest rooms."
Midpointe Hotel Orlando Convention Center is located just twelve minutes from the Orlando International Airport, and directly across the street from the Pointe Orlando shopping center.
