New Job-Match Platform Cambio Promises to Increase Workforce Diversity
In Spanish, “cambio” means “change.” And that’s exactly what SaaS-based job match platform Cambio aims to do — revolutionize the way job seekers, hiring managers and recruiters connect. Brokering connections is just the beginning.
Diversity (or the lack thereof) remains an ongoing issue for most corporations, and by extension, most event teams. Founder and CEO Neil Patwardhan believes that Cambio, which he describes as a “data-driven global talent matching platform designed to quickly match at scale,” can help by addressing the diversity challenge at the top of the funnel.
“As a job seeker, you aren’t able to show who you are in full through a resumé, and as a hiring manager or recruiter you have a hard time finding that perfect fit because of the limited view of candidate profiles,” he says. “And very little has been done to improve human diversity during the hiring process due to fear of bias and lawsuits.”
Patwardhan says this will change with Cambio’s new diversity recruiting engine and bias graph, unveiled today at an event in Austin, Cambio’s headquarters.
“We’ve built a system of checks and balances with our analytics to surface recruiter bias, whether conscious, unconscious or subconscious,” he explains. “In theory, this should lead to wider diversity at the top of funnel, which should result in greater diversity in hiring.”
According to Cambio’s research, there is an average of 250 applicants for every open corporate position. And usually only half of those resumés are ever seen, leaving many applicants hanging and corporations missing out on great candidates simply because a resumé may not have all the right keywords.
Video is a key element in Cambio. Patwardhan says that video is a key differentiator for the platform, allowing job seekers to promote soft skills and both parties to identify culture fit. For event managers looking to expand their teams, this can help with faster screening and fits with a more diverse hiring focus.
As a job seeker, creating a Cambio profile is easy. The platform can use your LinkedIn profile to pre-populate basic data fields. You then add your resumé, skills and an optional 30-60 second pitch video (but keep in mind, recruiters have limited time). If you find a job you’re interested in, swipe right. If you want to reject a job, swipe left. Your potential employers will do the same.
Creating a company profile is just as simple. As you build the profile, remember that job seekers research you as much as you research them. The company account should include basic information, a short description, a company video (which is important for job cards — the way a job appears for a job seeker on the Cambio platform) and images (at least one for the job card). You can create personalized videos for each job you add. You can also set up your own profile under the company account to add a more human element to communications.
Hiring managers can view all candidate information through an easy-to-use dashboard. The platform includes probability match percentages, private chat functionality that allows the hirer or applicant to start the conversation, and custom filters that let you easily review and manage applicants through the hiring lifecycle. If you choose to integrate with an applicant tracking system (ATS), Cambio will partner with you to set up the flow.
“Diversity is no longer just a ‘nice to have,’” Patwardhan says. “The impact to company productivity, culture and overall credibility makes it a must, and Cambio is solving for that need.”
